The Dune 42" Fire Bowl is handcrafted from Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement (GFRC) — a high-performance composite material that offers exceptional strength, weather resistance, and a refined concrete aesthetic. The shell is 1 inch thick, and each piece is finished with a custom patina that gives it a unique, one-of-a-kind appearance. GFRC is specifically engineered to withstand outdoor conditions including temperature fluctuations, rain, and UV exposure.

Yes. The Dune 42" Fire Bowl is available in both natural gas and liquid propane configurations. Natural gas models are plumbed directly into your home's gas supply line (requires professional installation) and operate at 7 inches water column pressure. Liquid propane models connect to a standard portable propane tank (not included) and operate at 11 inches water column pressure. Both configurations deliver 65,000 BTUs/hr with the standard key valve ignition.

Your fire bowl ships with the 12" 6-spoke hex burner and burner pan pre-installed, a key valve ignition system with key, a flex hose, the appropriate orifice and fittings for your selected fuel type, and 27 lbs of lava rock fire media. Propane units also include a regulator. Note that a propane tank is not included and must be sourced separately. A fireplace lighter is recommended for manual ignition but is not included.

The Dune 42" is constructed for outdoor use and the GFRC material is built to withstand the elements. However, Prism Hardscapes recommends applying a cement sealer to the concrete surface annually to help preserve the finish and prevent color fading from prolonged exposure. Always use a designated fire pit cover when the unit is not in use to protect it from rain, debris, and UV degradation. For harsh winter climates, covering or storing the unit during extended periods of non-use will extend its life.

The Dune 42" Fire Bowl requires a minimum clearance of 4 feet on all sides and 6 feet from the top to any combustible surface or overhead structure. The unit must be placed on a flat, level, non-combustible surface. It is for outdoor use only and should never be operated indoors, in a garage, or in any enclosed or partially enclosed space. Prism Hardscapes also strongly recommends installing carbon monoxide detectors in any adjacent occupied spaces.

Yes. Prism Hardscapes requires installation and servicing to be performed by a licensed contractor or qualified gas installer. For natural gas models, a gas professional must run a dedicated gas line prior to installation. For propane models, proper connection to the tank and pressure testing must be completed by a qualified individual. Improper installation will void the warranty. Annual servicing by an NFI-certified gas technician is also recommended.

Because the Dune 42" Fire Bowl is handcrafted and finished with a custom patina process, there will naturally be subtle variations in tone, texture, and shading from piece to piece — and from the photos shown. This handcrafted variation is considered a feature of the product, not a defect, and contributes to each bowl's unique character. The Ultra White finish is achieved through a specialized process and is priced higher than the other five standard color options (Café, Coastal, Ebony, Natural, and Pewter).

Prism Hardscapes offers a 2-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. If the unit is found to be defective and cannot be repaired by a Prism Hardscapes representative, it will be replaced FOB from the Prism Hardscapes facility. Proof of purchase and delivery date are required. The warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, improper installation, unauthorized alterations, or use of unapproved fuels. Using any solid fuel or alternative fuel will void the warranty immediately.
