Golden Eagle GE100E Pellet Stove FAQ

What type of pellets should I use in the GE100E?

US Stove recommends using only PFI certified premium hardwood pellets. The stove is designed and tested specifically to burn wood pellets only — corn, coffee pellets, and other alternative fuels should not be used as they can damage the unit and void the warranty.

Can I connect a wall thermostat to this pellet stove?

Yes, you can install a wall thermostat, but it must be a wired thermostat. The control boards do not accept wireless or smart thermostats. Note that in T-Stat mode the stove operates in a High/Low mode rather than On/Off, meaning it will continue running on the lowest heat setting even when the setpoint temperature is reached.

How long can the GE100E run on a single load of pellets?

Thanks to its large 120 lb. hopper capacity and automatic fuel feed system, the GE100E is capable of burning for up to three days on a single hopper or fuel load, making it one of the most low-maintenance options for extended heating.

Can the stove be vented through the ceiling?

Yes, the GE100E can be exhausted through the ceiling as well as through a wall. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific installation recommendations and required clearances before setting up your venting configuration.

Do I need a fresh air kit for installation?

A fresh air kit is required if the stove is mobile-home certified and installed in a mobile home. It is also recommended for newer build homes, homes with limited makeup air, or situations where you are experiencing a poor burn.

What is the difference between the GE100E and a model ending in "W"?

Models ending in "W" include Wi-Fi capabilities, allowing you to control the stove using the USSC App. The GE100E (without the W) comes with a remote control that works with an IR sensor on the stove instead.

What power backup should I use during an outage?

US Stove recommends a minimum 1000W pure sine wave inverter battery backup for short-term operation. If using a generator, a 1000W inverter generator is recommended to protect the stove's electronic control board.

How often should the burn pot be cleaned?

It is recommended that the burn pot be emptied and cleaned before each ignition. If you run the stove continually, inspect the burn pot daily to determine whether it needs cleaning to maintain reliable ignition and efficient performance.
