Are these adjustable or fixed?
Sectioned and adjustable. The sections rotate against each other so you can set the exact angle rather than accept a fixed 45 or 90.
Should I screw the elbow sections together?
Yes. Once the angle is set, secure the sections with sheet metal screws so vibration and heat cycling cannot shift it.
Can I use two 90s in one run?
Two is generally the maximum in a connector run, and each one costs draft. Where the geometry allows, two 45s are gentler on draft than a single 90.
How far does this need to be from the wall?
18" to any combustible surface. If you cannot hold 18", use double wall DVL instead, which drops the requirement to 6". Never reduce clearance with a homemade heat shield unless your stove manual permits it.
Is single wall good enough, or should I pay for double wall?
Single wall is fine when you have the clearance and want to save money. Double wall drafts better, builds less creosote and fits tighter spaces. If the stove is in a corner or alcove, go double wall.
Can it pass through a wall or ceiling?
No. This is interior connector pipe only. Any penetration through a wall, ceiling or roof requires Class A chimney, joined to this pipe with a chimney adaptor.
How do I attach it to my stove?
Use the DuraBlack stovepipe adaptor (6DBK-AD) at the stove's flue collar. Sections should be secured with sheet metal screws, crimped end pointing down toward the stove so condensation stays inside the pipe.
