- Joins Stovepipe to Class A Chimney: This is the piece that connects your connector pipe to the Class A chimney at the ceiling support box or wall thimble. Works with both DVL double wall and DuraBlack single wall, and fits DuraPlus, DuraTech and DuraLiner.
- 6" Clearance Instead of 18": The double-wall air-insulated design cuts required clearance to combustibles from 18" down to 6", the closest wall clearance of any connector pipe. That is what makes a stove fit in a corner or a tight alcove.
- Stainless Steel Inner Wall: A .016" stainless inner wall heats fast and holds heat longer, keeping the draft strong and steady from the first match. A hotter connector means less condensing flue gas and noticeably less creosote through the season.

DVL to Class A Adaptor FAQ
Will it match my stove's finish?
It is a black painted finish with smooth welded seams, which matches the great majority of black wood stoves. Touch-up is standard Stove Bright high-temperature black paint.
What is the difference between DVL and single wall DuraBlack?
Clearance and price. DVL needs only 6" to a combustible wall where single wall needs 18", and its stainless inner wall drafts better and builds less creosote. DuraBlack costs less and is the economical choice when you have the room.
Can this pass through a wall or ceiling?
No. Connector pipe of any kind stops at the ceiling or wall. To pass through the building you need Class A chimney, and the two join with a chimney adaptor at the ceiling support box or wall thimble.
How do I connect this to my stove?
Use the DVL stove adaptor (6DVL-AD), which fits the stove's flue collar and gives the pipe a proper mechanical connection. For a rear-exit stove use the tee with cover (6DVL-T) instead.
How much connector pipe can I run?
Most stove manuals cap the total connector run at 8 to 10 feet with no more than two 90 degree elbows, and any horizontal section must rise at least 1/4" per foot toward the chimney.
Do I need to cut it to length?
Usually not. Between fixed 24" and 48" lengths and the telescoping section that spans 40" to 68", most runs are made up without cutting.
Can I mix DVL with single wall pipe in the same run?
Better not to. Clearance is governed by the least protective pipe in the run, so a single wall section forces the whole run back to 18". Pick one and stay with it.
