Is single wall good enough, or should I pay for double wall?
Single wall is fine when you have the clearance and want to save money. Double wall drafts better, builds less creosote and fits tighter spaces. If the stove is in a corner or alcove, go double wall.
Can it pass through a wall or ceiling?
No. This is interior connector pipe only. Any penetration through a wall, ceiling or roof requires Class A chimney, joined to this pipe with a chimney adaptor.
How do I attach it to my stove?
Use the DuraBlack stovepipe adaptor (6DBK-AD) at the stove's flue collar. Sections should be secured with sheet metal screws, crimped end pointing down toward the stove so condensation stays inside the pipe.
What gauge is it and does that matter?
24-gauge, heavier than the thin big-box stovepipe that tends to warp. Thicker steel holds its shape through the heat cycling a wood stove puts a connector through every season.
Do I need to cut it to fit?
