Frequently Asked Question
Ask a Question-
I have a new element I Granville fire pit. I love it but have the red lava rock. Does the lava rock come in black? Fir the Greig’s ceramic rock that says “fire pit compatible” does they mean it can get wet and won’t explode when heated?
The lava rocks that comes with the fire pit is typically red or black/gray. Lava rocks are very porous like a sponge. Water can get trapped inside of lava rocks when they get wet. When the wet lava rocks get heated up by the fire, the water inside turns to steam and expands. This creates pressure inside of the lava rocks which can cause them to explode open.
