MF AirX – Air Management System

The AirX system automatically manages your wood stove's air intake during the most critical moment of a fire—right after loading or reloading—when user error most often causes inefficient burns and excess emissions. At fire startup, the air intake opens fully, just like a traditional Nova 2. Once the system timer is reached, AirX automatically reduces airflow by approximately 70%, locking in longer burn times, higher efficiency, and cleaner combustion without any manual adjustments.

The AirX system is designed specifically for the MF Fire Nova 2 and Nova 2X wood stoves. It attaches directly to the air inlet on the rear of the stove, making installation easy and accessible. If you own a Nova 2, AirX is the upgrade kit that effectively converts it into a Nova 2X. If you purchase a new Nova 2X, the AirX system ships standard and does not need to be added on separately. It is not compatible with original Nova, Nova Tower, Catalyst, or other wood stove brands.

You have two options for power outages. First, the optional battery back-up (+$49) can keep the AirX system running for weeks—or even months in most installations—providing seamless smart operation when the grid is down. Second, even without power or battery back-up, the stove continues to operate efficiently and exactly the same way the standard Nova 2 has always operated. You will simply lose the automated air reduction feature until power is restored.

Installation is straightforward and designed to be DIY-friendly. The AirX air adjustment mechanism attaches to the rear air inlet of the Nova 2 firebox—a location that is easy to access. The kit includes a new rear air duct along with the control hardware. The standard AirX package includes the air management control unit and a new rear air duct that replaces the existing duct on your Nova 2.
