In the US, it reduces wall clearance from standard distances to just 4 3/4" and ceiling clearance to 7 3/4". In Canada, both wall and ceiling clearances are reduced to 6". These measurements are taken from the outer edge of the shield, allowing more flexible installation around combustible materials.

Single-wall pipes are lighter, more affordable, and easier to install than double-wall alternatives. Combined with this SBIHA shield, they provide excellent safety features and clearance reduction for standard applications. Double-wall pipes are typically reserved for applications requiring extra insulation through living spaces or in extreme weather conditions.
